In Italy the beautiful town of Urbino is something that you have to consider going to if you ever are in the Marche region. The town is pretty small, with just around fifteen thousand residents. But, it is rich in history and is home to some of the most beautiful renaissance churches. This town was of prime importance in terms of education even in the middle ages.
If Urbino is not to your liking, you can check out Ancona, which is another beautiful port city. There are many ruins that you can take a look at here. Most of the architecture was sadly destroyed during the Second World War, but there is still a lot to see. Any history buff will get excited with all that this town has to offer.
